Soybean is a widely used crop in plant biotechnology and functional genomics studies due to its agricultural importance and suitability for gene function analysis. The newly introduced platform is intended to support research involving genetic modification, transgene expression, and genome editing applications in Glycine max.

The platform at Lifeasible includes multiple plant transformation approaches, including Agrobacterium-mediated transformation, particle bombardment, protoplast transformation, and in planta transformation methods. These techniques enable researchers to introduce genetic material into soybean cells for downstream functional studies.

For stable transformation workflows, Agrobacterium-mediated transformation using cotyledonary node explants is highlighted as a commonly applied method for generating transgenic soybean plants. In addition, plant regeneration processes based on direct shoot organogenesis are included to support the recovery of transformed tissues.

The platform also provides transient expression systems, which are used for rapid evaluation of gene constructs and preliminary functional studies prior to stable line development. These approaches are typically applied in gene function validation and genome editing workflow optimization.

The soybean transformation system is applicable to a range of plant research areas, including gene function analysis, transgenic plant development, and CRISPR/Cas-based genome editing studies. It can also be used in molecular characterization workflows such as transgene confirmation and gene expression analysis.
